India, Koraput - assembly

Koraput: "Say No to Big Dams -- Small Is Beautiful"
became the theme of a day-long assembly and public march hosted by
members of the Koraput District Displaced People’s Forum and the
Society for Promoting Rural Education and Development (SPREAD) in
India. While the 20 large dams in the Koraput region have already
displaced thousands of people, local communities still face the threat
of on-going plans to build more.
